"The Highlands Psychology Group"
The Highlands Psychology Group grew out of Dr. Cathy Batka's private practice. She decided to create a group
of clinicians who are kind, centered, and talented in their work. She wanted to develop
a working environment for the clinicians and the clients they help that was warm and professional
to help people feel connected and engaged.
The name for "The Highlands" came from a group practice in State College, Pennsylvania. This group has been comprised of a wonderful group of clinicians in private practice helping clients for more than 20 years.
Dr. Batka met a number of these clinicians when she was an intern at Penn State University
in 2000-2001. The name "The Highlands" always held the ideals of warmth and professionalism
she experienced from these psychologists and mental health therapists.
"The Highlands" also holds great meaning for Dr. Batka who has a Celtic heritage,
this is also depicted in the logo design which is a "quaternary" Celtic knot.
